Sex Metal

Sex Metal was a term used to describe 80′s Judas Priest album covers by a Japanese friend of mine. It is a yet to be released line of tees from Some Product. Most designs are in development stage and all the samples or very limited runs are printed by Mycommunitee.

This tee was printed from a drawing I did, with the Sex Metal logo underneath. The shirt is also dip dyed after printing.

Human fulfillment is only possible through the abandonment of the self……..

Some Product, what’s in a name

The name Some Product was “borrowed” from the great Sex Pistols bootleg with the same name. The Pistols were an amazing band and an even more amazing idea, a spark, that heavily influenced many things and ideas in current popular culture. The name is very fitting with the ethos of the company. It’s all just Some Product.

This was a hand stenciled, airbrushed tee with an obvious nod to the Sex Pistols famous news headlines. Some Product produced in a very limited run of 40 tees for customers in Japan and a few were sold in Canada at El Kartel.

Digitally printed by Mycommunitee.com. All graphics are compiled from original 70′s clippings from newspapers and magazines.

This Rock and Roll Swindle graphic, currently available in the Some Product catalogue.

..The Pistols, The Clash and Buzzcocks for 1 Pound!! Not Bad……Tee available from Some Product for Fall 2010.

Fiorucci

Fiorucci, is a super fun and sassy fashion label out if Italy. It was very active in it’s heyday in the 70′s and into the 80′s. This tee has been a favorite since it mysteriously appeared in my possession years ago.

Mycommunitee

My old jean jacket from junior/high school dayz with original patches. The print was done recently by Mycommunitee.

One of the first tees we printed at Mycommunitee. The image is from a scanned hand drawing I did.

Another Mycommunitee one off print from a water color painting.

Second Favorite T-shirt !

I got this tee from a girl at some massive rager I went to in East LA once. I clearly remember a few farm animals running around all over the place and hundreds of people getting wasted with police helicopters flying overhead. She had about a dozen of these shirts printed up and she was trying to sell them out of a box, for $20. I didn’t pay her, but I offered to wear it all night at the party in exchange for the shirt. I have never worn it again ( just can’t seem to find the right occasion I guess ). A real treasure that now sits securely tucked away in my safety deposit box.

Favorite T-shirt, Ever!

This is really one of my all time most cherished items.
T-shirt graphics are often a way to communicate with the outside world your likes or dislikes, irony, humor, affiliations etc.
I wore this particular tee non-stop for nearly a year. I actually ended up meeting a girlfriend named Kitty while wearing this shirt.
True Story!

The Gallery – some of our favorite tees, living or dead.

Odd Ball Cabaret tank. Another favorite strip club, 80′s graphic.

Georgio by Ryan Paradise. His company was Model Slut in Paradise from Chicago and they were definitely kindred spirits when Some Product first started coming out to tradeshows in the US.

Most band shirts are pretty lame, some are ok, and few are great. This is a GREAT band shirt!

Graphic by one of my favorite Japanese artists, Keiichi Tanaami, for Beams in Japan. I got this one as a gift from the head at Beams Tees, in Tokyo a few years ago. They consistently produce some of the coolest graphic tees in the world.

Another excellent thrift store tee. Cool illustration, and an excellent use of the “80′s Grid” graphic technique.
