The mighty HOG

Not really sure who did the artwork on this Tankhog Halloween themed tee, but I dig it. The “Mighty HOG”, were a pretty awesome Vancouver rock band and a great bunch of dudes. They absolutely tear apart The Partridge Family classic, “I woke up in love this morning” in the clip below.

Get Rich or Die Cruisin’ dude!!

So stoked I found this photo!!!

I remember owning this Die Kreuzen record back in junior high and being particularly drawn to this image. As a kid on a steady diet of metal and punk music and graphics, this cover had everything I liked. The band never played the cultural hotbed of Edmonton, so I decided to make the tee in Grade 7 art class  (unfortunately, the actual tee did not survive..boohoo).

This was done with a paint brush, using regular fabric paints and I am quite sure, is the first tee I ever made. I remember making a few more one-off, DIY tees (Celtic Frost, Slayer and The Cramps) over the next few years, but …no photos have surfaced ….yet.

Petroleum By-Product

Petroleum By-Product is an awesome, new-wave tinged band from Vancouver, NOT a duo of dreadlocked Dutch eco-warrior rave Dj’s !!!

After weeks, of literally being held at gun point in a dungeon like studio, by the very Spector like  Soulkid1 aka Lord Godfrey, these guys are ready breathe in the  fresh air of East Hastings and synth their way into our little hearts, tonite (April 16, 2010) at the Rickshaw theatre.

Last week, Sally from PBP stopped by Mycommunitee.com to get a tee made from their  Superficial Artificial album cover. A very limited number of these tees may be available for purchase directly from the band.

Some Product, what’s in a name

The name Some Product was “borrowed” from the great Sex Pistols bootleg with the same name. The Pistols were an amazing band and an even more amazing idea, a spark, that heavily influenced many things and ideas in current popular culture. The name is very fitting with the ethos of the company. It’s all just Some Product.

This was a hand stenciled, airbrushed tee with an obvious nod to the Sex Pistols famous news headlines. Some Product produced in a very limited run of 40 tees for customers in Japan and a few were sold in Canada at El Kartel.

Digitally printed by Mycommunitee.com. All graphics are compiled from original 70’s clippings from newspapers and magazines.

This Rock and Roll Swindle graphic, currently available in the Some Product catalogue.

..The Pistols, The Clash and Buzzcocks for 1 Pound!! Not Bad……Tee available from Some Product for Fall 2010.
